For thousands of generations, First Nations people have cared for country using a range of traditional land management practices. Today, many of these practices have become part of Australia's wider plan to use carbon farming as a method of reducing carbon emissions in our fight against climate change.

Indigenous Carbon Australia is a not-for-profit company that was founded in 2020. Our mission is to help First Nations communities cut through red tape so they can set up and run carbon farming projects on traditional land. We also help to get their carbon credits issued by the Clean Energy Regulator and find companies to purchase them at a premium price on the open market.

Carbon farming is an important revenue stream for First Nations people. It leads to more jobs on country, enhanced living conditions, hope for a better future, and the ongoing protection of land and water.
